BLASTP, given protein sequence(s) query, returns the most similar protein sequences from the specified protein sequence database(s).

BLASTX, compares the six-frame translation products of nucleotide sequence(s) query against the specified protein sequence database(s). And the most similar protein sequences from the database(s) will be returned.

TBLASTN, compares the protein sequence(s) query against the six-frame translation products of the specified nucleotide sequence database(s). And the most similar products from the database(s) will be returned.

TBLASTX, compares the six-frame translation products of both the nucleotide sequence(s) query and the specified nucleotide sequence database(s). And the most similar products from the database(s) will be returned.
