It all started in 1995 when brothers John & Rob Merwin saw a niche in the mattress industry and decided to open a retail store, R&S Mattress, which sells liquidations, closeouts, and freight-damaged mattreses. R&S Mattress is still open today and grew to 21 stores, 17 in Arizona, 3 in Utah, and now 1 in Nevada. Eventually, the brothers saw an over abundance of material not being used and decided to try and make their own matresses. This mattress line became known as Brooklyn Bedding and has become very popular in all their retail stores.

In 2013, John & Rob decided to take Brooklyn Bedding to the next level - opening an online mattress store. They both found the majority of latex and memory foam mattresses online were overpriced and knew they could provide better quality and value. Since the opening of BrooklynBedding.com, the online store has been receiving rave reviews all over the internet and has now become a leading competitor for selling luxury mattresses.
