ZED CERTIFICATION SCHEME IN INDIA

The Government of India has launched a new scheme for MSME Sector called “Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED Certification Scheme”. The ZED Certification Model is designed for the manufacturing sector. The purpose of the project is to promote Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED) production in small, medium and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and evaluate ZED for their certification.

MSMEs can apply for certification in any one of the following three levels :

Certification Level 1: BRONZE (5 Parameters)

Certification Level 2: SILVER (14 Parameters)

Certification Level 3: GOLD (20 Parameters)


Eligibility of ZED CERTIFICATE

All MSMEs registered with the UDYAM Registration will be eligible to participate in MSME Sustainable (ZED) certification and receive related benefits / incentives.

VALIDITY OF ZED CERTIFICATE

The certificate issued will be valid for 3 years. After the expiry of the validity of the ZED Certificate, MSMEs can go for Renewal of their ZED Certification.

COST OF CERTIFICATION

Certification Level 1: BRONZE : Rs.10,000/-

Certification Level 2: SILVER   : Rs. 40,000/-

Certification Level 3: GOLD      : Rs. 90,000/-

Subsidy on Cost of Certification

An MSME unit will get subsidy as per the following structure, on the cost of certification:

i.                    Micro Enterprises: 80%

ii.                  Small Enterprises: 60%

iii.                Medium Enterprises: 50%
