The Toyota Highlander has limited space in the third row fitted only for small teens. There are three available seatbelts in the back, but not as plentiful as in the front and second row.

The Toyota Highlander does not come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto app system. Though Toyota offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in some of its models, it still needs more improvement to keep pace with its rivals.

The Toyota Highlander is a capable off-roader with an eight-speed transmission, it still has a problem when it comes to choosing a gear to be in and it constantly changes, making the engine go into higher revs all of a sudden.
