You Might Not Know These Facts About the 2022 Mustang Mach-E

by Justin Langer Content Manager

There's no denying the exhilaration emitted by Ford's pony car, the legendary Mustang. One ride in this adrenaline-fueled performance automobile leaves you with an indescribable sense of joy. This sort of ride was previously only available in the classic sports car, but with the introduction of the Mustang Mach-E, drivers can now harness this power in an all-electric SUV. Whether you're an expert on the Mach-E or your interest has been sparked, there's a lot to learn about this electric pony. So, let's learn more about the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, from its outside appearance to the mysteries hidden behind its sculpted body.

Mustang Vibrations Run Through It

Many drivers imagine electric vehicles plodding down the road, hardly capable of reaching motorway speeds, but this is not the case... Not at all, particularly in the Mach-E. Ford imbued this ferocious machine with the spirit of a Mustang, complete with all the power, acceleration, and excitement that you'd expect from the company's legendary pony car. When equipped with the GT Performance Edition, the Mustang Mach-E can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It doesn't only share a name with an icon; it also performs like one.

Hands-Free Driving Is Now Available

Every driver wishes they didn't have to worry about their driving, and with Ford's BlueCruise technology, which is now available in the 2022 Mustang Mach-E, they can. The 2022 Mach-E offers a hands-free approach to driving, braking, turning, and controlling your car for you by utilizing over 130,000 miles of pre-mapped routes across North America. Staying safe is essential, especially while driving, which is why the BlueCruise function also employs an infrared front-facing camera to monitor your attention to the road, notifying you if your vision wanders from the road ahead.

Tesla is getting a run for its money

Many drivers believe Tesla is the gold standard for electric vehicles, but it's time to let that illusion go and embrace the truth. Other cars, such as the Mustang Mach-E, are coming up to and even exceeding this industry pioneer. In terms of range, depending on the battery and powertrain, the Mach-E easily outperforms one of Tesla's most popular options, the Model 3. The rear-wheel-drive Mach-E can go up to 305 miles on a single charge thanks to Ford's 91-kWh extended-range battery. The equivalent rear-wheel-drive Tesla Model 3 is only expected to travel 272 miles on a single charge.

The F-150 Lightning shares a battery

The 2022 Mach-E has something in common with another Ford sister, the F-150 Lightning, in that they both use the same battery. The Mach-battery E's pack is easily located beneath the vehicle's floor and is manufactured by LG Chem, the same supplier for competitors such as the Chevy Bolt EV, the Volkswagen ID.4, and others. It is made up of pouch cells wrapped in an aluminum-plastic shell rather than a metal casing, allowing the battery to be lighter overall. There are several advantages to using pouch cell lithium batteries, including improved vehicle performance, which allows the Mach-E to give the finest ride possible, built for the excitement of the trip.
