Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro will sport a 60Hz notchless OLED display, new color confirmed
Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro is coming on March 24 and the company has started drip-feeding us its specifications. We already know the Redmi K30 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, support 5G networks, and sport a 64MP quad camera.
Now the Chinese phone maker has released a new image of the flagship, which once again confirms it will sport a notchless display.
However, unlike the vanilla K30, the Pro model won't offer a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Not even 90Hz, since the company decided to settle with a 60Hz panel. But, this will be an AMOLED panel from Samsung and Redmi promises remarkable quality.
An AMOLED screen also means the phone will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, instead of the side-mounted reader seen on the K30.
That said, it's not just the refresh rate that has come down, the number of selfie cameras has also decreased from two to one. It is mounted on a pop-up mechanism which will retract automatically when a fall is detected. The video attached below demonstrates that.
In a separate post on Weibo, Redmi showed off the purple color variant of the K30 Pro, which like the white version, has a red-colored power button. The Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone will arrive in a green shade, too, and there's a limited edition as well, called "Fantasy Westward Journey 3D Edition" (machine translated from Chinese).
Redmi hasn't revealed the full specs sheet of the K30 Pro yet, that will happen on next Tuesday, but the Chinese phone maker has confirmed the phone will come with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, improved vibration motor, and Game Turbo 3.0.
