Winter skincare for brides- from pre-bridal to receptionby Shweta Sharma Meegash
Wedding is a one special day in a girl’s life; no doubt, you must have lots of plans if you are a bride to be. Outfit for different occasions-Haldi, Mehendi, and the wedding day. Indian wedding is not over in a day, the celebration continues even after marriage- reception party. Choosing outfits and jewelry for different occasions is a challenging task in itself for a bride. As she is the center of attraction, nothing should be less than perfect.
As far as makeup is concerned, trips to salon become common. One thing that ranks above all is skincare. During wedding season makeup is applied several times on a girl's face. Every skin type is different and it could even react to products applied. It is better to take care of skin in advance, especially in winter. In winters skin looks dull, chapped, and dry but as a bride, you can’t afford such skin. If you choose to celebrate in winters, skincare is a must before you set to apply makeup.
Exfoliate- If you want to exfoliate your skin, do it one day before the wedding day. Exfoliation may lead to swelling of the skin which settles down in a day or two. Avoid doing it on the wedding day. For exfoliation, take raw coffee and add skin oil to it, gently massage it all over your face and wash it off.
Moisturize- winters are perfect for celebrations but not for skin. Winter steals moisture from our skin. We miss glowing tanned skin like that in summer. Moisturizing it becomes our priority in winters, but as you are a bride, don’t rely on cosmetics always. Dab coconut oil on skin and massage gently before going to bed every day.
Omega-3 Fats- Omega-3 fats are responsible for glowing skin. If your skin is not smooth and silky, you lack omega-3 fatty acids. Eat walnut and supplements if the wedding date is approaching. If you are non-vegetarian, add fish in your daily diet because it is rich in omega-3 fat.
Avoid hot water- It is very tempting to sit in a hot tub, but hot water steals natural oil form skin and leaves it dry. So lower down the water temperature for at least one month. You will get glowing skin on you.
Sip water- Our body contains more than 70% water, nothing can give you glow but water. In winter we skip water because we don’t feel thirsty. This dry out our skin and gives a dull look. As a bride, you should stay hydrated if you want your skin to glow.
Change your moisturizer- Your moisturizer must be rich in vitamin-E, C, and omega 3 fat. If your skin is extremely dry use oil-based moisturizers.
