Uttarakhand – PauriGarhwal, Dehradun and Saharanpur. In the year 1983, three
sanctuaries namely Motichur, Rajaji and Chila were merged, and thus were laid
the foundation of the present day Rajaji National Park. It is named after Sri
Rajagopalachari who was the first Indian Governor General. The national park is
6 km from Rishikesh and 9km from Haridwar . Located alongside the foothills of
Shivalik range in Himalaya, it abodes the largest populace of elephants in
Uttarakhand. In addition to elephants, it is also home to king cobra, the great
piped hornbill, sloth bears, tiger, Himalayan Kingfisher and hyena. If you are visiting during the months from
November to March then you will also get to see several migratory birds as
well. Explore the park either enjoying elephant safari or on a jeep.
Pench National Park, Madhya Pradesh

park. Pench National park is also known
as Pench Tiger Reserve. It has different kinds of topography where vegetation
of all types can thrive. It is home to more than 1200 plants species. The
environment at the park is conducive to Sambar and Chital. With an
approximation of near about 90.3 animals every square kilometre, it is home to
the highest density of herbivores in the country. While tigers continue to
remain the main predator, wolves, leopards and wild dogs are also spread in
huge numbers. Pench national Park is extremely popular for herds of wild pigs,
Gaur, Indian Bison and wild dogs.
Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh
Kanha
National Park is the largest national park in India. It is also popularly known
as Kanha Tiger Reserve. Being home to more than 300 species of migratory as
well as resident birds, it lets you have an experience of life time. it is the
only place in India where swamp deer, Barasingha, can be located. Its bamboo as
well as sal forests make it an ideal destination where you can spot the famous
Royal Bengal Tiger, chitals, Indian wild dogs, leopards, sambhars, gaur and
sloth bears. While chances of getting a glimpse of tiger are much higher at Bandhavgarh
National Park, the safari experience at Kanha National Park is second to none
and extremely fulfilling. There are
plenty of gates through which you can enter the national park; the most popular
one is Khatiya. It might be surprising that Kanha National Park inspired
Rudyard Kipling, an author of British Origin, to write the famous Jungle Book.
