Lumina Events Management is an event organizing company, headed by Bernard Maybituin. Mr. Maybituin had founded a production house called Maybituin Productions, formed in 2004. He has been the choreographer and stage director of fashion shows by Renee Salud, and has participated as director and choreographer of several beauty pageants across the country, such as Mutya ng Pilipinas and Miss Earth.

The show, held in One Esplanade, opened with a scene in a cathedral, and then a man wearing a lace and leather bolero stepped out on the runway, followed by a lot of metallic armor and flamboyant accessories, by Ablaze Artwear and Accessories by Junjun Ablaza.

Next came a show of bicycle stunts and a dance-off, with a cityscape blazing in the background. A male model appeared covered in white plastic squares, with a stick figure man perched on his head -- just like a sign in a men’s room. Next came black coats patched with street and speech bubbles draped like shirts on the male models. In this collection by Herbert Custodio and Jaggy Glarino, muscular men in gray dresses also appeared in the runway. Maxi sweaters in lurid hues of orange were also seen here, covered in street signs, and accented with beanies with giant pompoms.

A projection of a seascape calmed things down, for a collection of swimwear by Agua Brazilian Swimwear. Tribal patterns appeared on trunks and bikinis with matching headscarves, and bling, with sleeved one-piece numbers for the women and even some gold accents on some pieces.

To cleanse the palate, a collection of outfits by Bessie Besana came next. Think white catsuits with flared bottoms, a calming sky blue number with a chiffon cape and a sequinned white skirt. Crystals make a statement on the runway, splashed over a blue lace playsuit and floor-length dress. Finally, beauty titlist Shamcey Supsup appeared on the runway, wearing a giant dress with off-shoulder pleated straps, a pearl-studded bodice, and a great proliferation of tulle ruffles on the ballgown skirt.

Things were about to get slightly odd again. A man in a spacesuit came out on the runway, followed by fog and a projection of space in the background. This was a show for Dino Bancoro and Estien Quijano. Outfits printed with QR codes and separates emblazoned with a logo fit for a space villain marched down the runway, followed by “aliens” in capes and ballgowns, with the finale dress as a smoky white gown with a scalloped skir and a woven bolero.

The fashion show reached a crescendo, with weird flamboyance still in mind, with a show by Rocky Gathercole, with alien queens (they won the space duel, apparently) and a lace gown with glowing LED’s concealed in the bodice. Metallic body armor made an appearance on this runway again, along with a magnificent gold shawl accenting gold armor with a solid collar echoing baroque patterns. Nothing much out of the ordinary here, until, BAM!, for the finale, a model in a sequinned and beaded skintight, sheer, neck-to-ankle catsuit with peacock colored beads emerged as a frightening masterpiece.Read more at:white formal dresses | black formal dresses
