While the self-propelled industry is soaring persistently, the need for an accredited automotive training is of high importance. The reason behind this is an emerging interest of youth in the automotive business. The complex interface of mechanics and electronics necessitates a peculiar expertise in every industry. However, the lack of adequate training becomes a stumbling block in their potential.

Why recognised automotive training is needed?

Indian auto industry is recognised as the 4th largest in the world, while witnessing increase in sale by 9.5% until 2017 and is expected to become the world’s third-largest passenger-vehicle market by 2021. Yet, many of the aspiring technicians fall short in excelling in their vocations just because of inaccessibility to an advanced training.

Evidently, the requirement for hands-on workforce keeps on ascending continuously. Concurrently, the need for attaining proper training by an authentic automotive training institute is rising too.

Where to obtain the training from?

With abundance of courses available for augmenting the technical know-how, the mechanics and technicians get dubious about which course to choose. They seek for a course which can suffice their need of attaining absolute technical know-how. Along with it, that training course should help them in uplifting or sustaining their current job positions. Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) lives up to all these prerequisites.

ASDC is one such government aided automotive training institute that offers all the requisite training programmes and courses. It endeavours to promote the automobile industry by bolstering it with various Government schemes and programmes.

Why ASDC?

ASDC aims at developing and upgrading Automotive Skills continually by adding higher value via skilling, which will ultimately lead to capital creation, increased economic activities and rise in job opportunities. Being integrated with academic pathways, this will let you skyrocket your expertise and achievements. Furthermore, ASDC is highly supported and promoted by prominent national automotive bodies – SIAM, ACMA, and FADA, which adds an extra value.

Getting an ASDC’s certificate will enable you to have an official recognition for your skills, which evidently is the foremost requisite while searching for a job or if you already work in an automotive industry.

Associated Schemes and Initiatives

With ASDC, three government assisted schemes walk alongside – National Apprentice Program Scheme (NAPS), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

While NAPS is boosting various corporate officials to train and hire apprentices, while providing them a stipend up to INR 1,500 per month, RPL strives to recognise qualified technicians and mechanics who are not able to fetch career progression opportunities.

PMKVY, the forerunner scheme amidst Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), is the leading promoting body of ASDC. It aims in enabling a large number of Indian youth for pursuing industry-relevant skill training that will help them to secure a better livelihood.

While there are a plethora of job opportunities in the automotive industry, the need for authentic training programmes has emerged massively. Pursuing a qualified course will not only polish the skills of potential technicians but will also help them in fetching apt jobs without any problem. Hence, choosing the right training and certification like ASDC plays a major role in augmenting one’s career!
