Why investor collect coins.

by Lakhwinder Singh Bullion seller
There's a good reason why investors enjoy coin collecting. There are a lot of great designs for gold and silver coins from well-known mints.
Coins made of gold and silver are legal tender and will never lose their face value. Each year, some coins feature a distinctive design, making them ideal for collecting. They normally cost more than the spot value because of this.
Coins typically come in one-ounce,½ oz.,¼ oz., and 1/10 oz. (excluding a few exceptions). You only stack coins of the same design because the dimensions can vary from design to design.

There is an obverse (the coin's front) and a reverse (the coin's back). All coins show the weight, immaculateness, face worth, and year someplace on them.
Drawbacks of Coins You pay more for the "collect-ability" factor New uncirculated coins sell higher than spot price compared to rounds Can be difficult to stack and store unless purchasing the same design We Recommend 1 oz. Benefits of Collectible Coins Easily recognizable Legal tender (although the value of the metal isn't likely to go below this, the coin will always hold the face value) Can be easier to use in trade and barter1 oz. Rounds are basically metal discs that are round and have a nice design stamped on them. They are similar to purchasing gold bars or silver Rounds are a great place to start investing because they are more accessible than coins and have a very low premium over the spot price.

Because they are not considered to be legal tender, rounds can be produced by either the government or private mints. Usually, but not always, they have the mint logo or name printed on them. Because they do not change from year to year, rounds do not bear the year as coins do.

Gold or silver rounds typically weigh 5 ounces,1 oz.,½ oz.,¼ oz. and 1/10 oz. You can stack rounds of different designs as long as they are from the same mint because the majority of mints keep the same dimensions for all of their rounds.
Rounds have the following advantages: they can be stacked from the same mint, making them easier to store and transport; they offer the lowest premium over the silver spot price of all coins; they have no collectible value; they are widely available; they are not ideal for trade or barter; they are not always as easily recognized, and they do not have a face value.
