When it comes to DVD replication, the best quality technical expertise combined with decades of knowledge and top-quality equipment will always produce the best results.
One DVD replication company in London can supply all of the above.
VDC Group have been supplying film and television companies, as well as software digital games suppliers and private companies wishing to showcase their products and services with the latest technology for a number of years.
DVD replication tends to work best with orders of more than 500 units, certainly it is more cost-effective in this respect and the quality is always first class. This is because a glass master is made of the original DVD which is then copied precisely onto hundreds of other discs using stampers.
DVDs tend to be far more informative and engaging for an audience than printed material which makes them the most popular method of presenting to would-be purchasers and other decision makers.
A DVD is more of a long-term solution than a CD and differs from the conventional CD physically as well as visually. DVDs contain layers (could be several) whereas CDs are flat. This means that more data can be stored on a DVDs (often up to around 14 times more).
In order to copy a presentation or film to a DVD in the first place a source master is necessary. The client can then choose their own menu and content. Sub-titles and additional audio tracks can also be added to a DVD, allowing the client a large element of creativity and individuality (this is usually achieved in an editing suite with both the client and editor working together as a team).
Whether DVD copying (ie duplication) or replication is employed depends on the amount of DVDs required by the client. DVD duplication will always be quicker to produce, however the quality of DVD replication is far superior and, if the order is large enough, can prove just as inexpensive.
It is worth remembering that DVDs are more sensitive than CDs and can therefore be scratched and damaged easier. As a result they have to be handled with care to ensure no scratching occurs as this can cause the DVD to ‘jump’ when played. However, without a doubt, DVD replication is the industry standard solution when it comes to manufacturing DVDs and certainly seems to be the medium of choice for clients.
CD duplication actually ‘burns’ the data onto the disc by using a heat-sensitive surface. In DVD replication the information is ‘pressed’ onto an aluminium and plastic disc which creates physical pits onto the surface of the disc. A clear plastic layer is then added to ensure the pits remain clean and unaffected by dust or other surface and atmospheric materials.
Once produced the
actual DVD disc can then be enhanced using litho methods or screen
printed with the client’s own unique artwork. No one job is ever
the same and each client’s individual and unique requirements can
usually be accommodated without any fuss.
