Why a PPC Company is Necessary to Generate Your Sales

by David Parry Content Writer and Blogger
Pay-per-click advertising, or PPC as it’s often called, is one of the most popular forms of online advertising you can use to drive traffic to your website and generate leads for your business. And while there are many people who feel that running PPC campaigns by yourself might be a good idea since it’s more affordable, it’s highly advisable that you hire the services of an experienced PPC company instead. Here are just some of the reasons why this makes sense.

Step 1: Understand your Target Market

The first step in creating any successful campaign involves doing research into your target market. What are their goals? How much are they willing to spend? What do they need and what does that mean for your product or service? It’s important for you to get an accurate understanding of these things before moving forward with a plan. Ask yourself, who’s my target audience and how can I reach them? Then start brainstorming creative ways you can connect with them. Getting familiar with your target market early on in your planning process will give you a leg up when it comes time to create your ad copy and bid on keywords.

Step 2: Identify the Right KPIs

KPIs are metrics that measure how well your ad campaign, or any online marketing effort, is doing. While there are many different KPIs you can choose from, some of them might be more relevant than others. For example, if you’re selling vacations, one KPI would be cost per click (CPC), because it tracks how much money you’re generating from each click on your ad. Another metric could be conversion rate (CR), which compares clicks to actual sales or leads generated by your ads. Here are some common performance metrics used by pay-per-click companies

Step 3: Create an Effective Ad Copy

To make sure that your ads are generating sales, you’ll want to first identify what exactly you’re selling. For example, if you own an e-commerce store, it’s easy enough for you to come up with solid and compelling ad copy about your product. However, if you’re running ads for a service or lead generation business, it will be more difficult for users to identify exactly what they are getting when they click on your ad. Regardless of what business model best fits your situation, one thing remains true: people do not buy products; they buy solutions to their problems.

Step 4: Choose the Right Keywords for your Ads

You should check on your campaigns’ performance regularly. That includes tracking sales and ROI. Additionally, you should revisit any keywords that aren’t working well and make changes as needed. You can tweak your ad copy too. With Google AdWords, for example, you can change things like bid price and daily budget at any time. It’s important to make improvements in order to succeed over time.

Step 5: Track and Improve your Campaigns

There are many free tools that you can use to track your campaign performance and determine which strategies generate sales. Use them to make sure that you’re maximizing your budget. Track things like cost per click, sales generated from each campaign, average order value and average number of visitors needed for a sale—that way, you know if your advertising strategy needs to be tweaked or changed completely. You might find that one keyword generates more revenue than another, or that offering expedited shipping leads to better conversion rates—the point is: pay attention and figure out what works best for your business. When it comes time to renew contracts with online advertisers, negotiate if necessary so you get maximum value for minimum price.
