Which foods should not be frozen
In some cases, frozen food not only loses its original structure, but can also be harmful to health. Such opinion was expressed by therapist and gastroenterologist Sergey Lopatin in a conversation with Dr. Peter periodical. On the one hand, even at low temperature, fruits retain most of the useful substances, but on the other hand, freezing in a normal freezer will not allow to save vitamins and microelements as much as possible, as this can be done by freezing on special equipment.
According to the expert, cucumbers, squash and cabbage cannot be exposed to low temperatures.
It is also advisable not to freeze lettuce leaves and greens.
Eggs should also not be frozen, because temperature changes cause cracks in the shell, into which pathogenic bacteria can penetrate.
Soft cheeses, according to the doctor, should not be kept in the refrigerator either: they will not only lose their taste, but also their structure, which can make them vulnerable to bacteria.
The expert strictly forbids double freezing of frozen meat, poultry, fish and seafood.
