The city was founded during the Neolithic times, and since then the culture and heritage of the city remained the same. Galata Tower

Lying at the height of 219 feet, the Galata tower is one of the longest towers of the city from where one can catch a panoramic view of the whole city. It is one of the oldest and longest towers of the city which was built in the year 1348.

Even though the tower has gone through maintenance and has been used for various purposes. At one time, the tower was used for spotting fires at any part of the city. But, these days, the tower is being used as a night club, restaurants, which are located at the top of the tower. 

Istanbul Archaeological Museum

The Istanbul Archaeological Museum is one of the most important museums of turkey, which is a mixture of three museums which are the Ancient Orient, the Archaeological Museum and the Tile kiosk Museum. The Museum contains over one million objects of civilizations from all over the world. The roots of the Tiled Kiosks can be traced back to as old as 1472. The Museum is filled with precious artifacts along with the sarcophagus of Alexander the Great.

Chora Church

The great Byzantine art of the Chora church is what makes it one of the best travel site which you should visit. The mosaics of the church depict the life of mother Mary and Jesus. The works of Chora Church is considered as one of the best Byzantine architecture works of all time. Even though the Chora used to serve as a monastery in its early years, but after a few centuries, the church was converted into a Mosque and later into a museum in the year 1948.
