Which are India’s Top 20 B-schools by Placement 2014? Get ready for surprises

This article presents the Top 20 B schools placement ranking based on their Average placement 2014. Except the older IIMs, all the Top B schools have announced their Placement Reports 2014.

Except the older IIMs, all the Top B schools have announced their Placement Reports 2014. MBAUniverse.com presents the Top 20 B-schools based on their Average Placement Report 2014.

 

The older IIM i.e. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta have not yet disclosed their Placement Report 2014. The Older IIMs have been ranked on the basis of their official Placement Data provided for MBAUniverse.com B-school Ranking 2013-14.

#1. IIM Calcutta

Avg Salary 2013: Rs.18 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014: Not Disclosed Yet

IIM C Placement 2014 is not officially available. However, according to the sources Average placement at IIMC has increased this year, and it is expected to have highest average salary amongst all B-schools. According to sources, in this year’s recruitment, Amazon emerged as the top recruiter with 16 offers. Also, more international placements in 2014 in comparison to 2013 were offered to the students.

#2. IIM Bangalore

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs.17.28 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Not Disclosed Yet

At IIM B, Placement 2014 got over in 4 days for 388 participating students with 150 recruiters. According to the sources Average placement at IIMC has increased this year, and it is expected to have second highest average salary amongst all B-schools.

 

#3. IIM Ahmedabad

 

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs.14.50 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Not Disclosed yet

IIM Ahmedabad final salary figures will be declared after 6 months. This is due to the ongoing IPRS process which release undiluted and correct placement data.

As per IIM A Interim Placement Report 2014,, 125 companies visited IIM A in 2014 placements which have also been completed for the batch of 378 students 13 of whom didn’t participate in placements. 

 

# 4. SPJIMR Mumbai

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 16.13 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Rs.17.20 lakhs

SPJIMR has recorded highest average salary amongst all B-schools who have formally announced their placement report 2014. Its Average salary 2014 is higher than XLRI and FMS!

Number of recruiters at SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai increased from 91 in 2013 to 101 in 2014. Total number of students who sought placement in 2014 were 228.

 

#5. XLRI, Jamshedpur

 

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 15.53 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014: Rs. 16.25 lakhs

Placement at XLRI Jamshedpur was completed in a record time of less than 4 days in 2014. There were 241 students seeking placement 2014 out of the batch of 245. While there were 77 companies visiting XLRI for placement in 2013, the number rose to 103 with more job offers. 

 

Placement season 2014 at XLRI saw a rise in median salary from Rs.16.2 lakhs per annum in 2013 to Rs.16.25 lakhs.   

 

#6. FMS, Delhi

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 16 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Rs. 16.18 lakhs

Placement season 2014 at FMS Delhi has proved that there is no economic slowdown. There were 212 offers for a batch where 205 students participated in the placement process, ensuring 100% placements. Total number of companies participating were 107 which included 37 first-time recruiters.

Average salary of total offers increased to Rs.16.18 lakhs per annum.

 

 

#7. JBIMS Mumbai

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 15.32 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Rs. 16.18 lakhs

There were 89 recruiters offering more number of roles. Students accepted 58 Pre Placement Offers from the recruiters in different sectors.  Banking Finance Services and insurance (BFSI) sector topped the list by placing 43% of the offers. 

#8. MDI Gurgaon

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 12 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Rs. 14.74 lakhs

There were 125 recruiters in placement 2014 at MDI making more job offers to 321 students seeking placements. Average salary package in 2014 placement stood at Rs.14.74 lakhs

 

#9. IIFT Delhi

Avg Salary 2013:  Rs. 12.10 lakhs

Avg Salary 2014:  Rs.14.32 lakhs

IIFT has two campuses; one is situated in Delhi and the other is in Kolkata. The Delhi campus is still the more favourite one for the recruiters. Number of recruiters at IIFT increased from 74 in 2013 to 85 in 2014. 200 students sought placement in 2014.
