What’s About ‘Signup’ Forms on the Website?

by Sifat Arora Content Marketing Specialist

When designing a website for a business, there are hardly any instances when the client comes up with a specific requirement for the sign up form. In fact, they are fine with a template design that would pop up from the bottom corner or anywhere from the screen. The creative web designing and development companies in Delhi, India have a lot of interactive customer engagement form ideas to offer. Following the lead, more and more clients are welcoming a creative and visually engaging sign up forms which can initiate a successful customer engagement.

When and why Sign up Forms are needed?

Based on the client-customer Experience survey, the best web development companies in india have revealed that ‘Sign Up’ forms are now the ‘must-haves’ in the website. These come handy on numerous occasions – when you are requesting to log-in before continuing, newsletter sign up, invitation to sign up, offering downloads or to offer them free vouchers. Through ‘Sign up’ form, the business is basically demanding the basic customer information (with customer’s discretion of course!) like email id, name, address, interests etc.

The website companies now-a-days have in-house team of graphic design service providers who create catchy designs that ads to the value. Here are few design tips and their usability explained below –

·         Labels on the top

The simplest design with text placement above the ‘fill-in’ field and aligned to the center or to the left. The simplicity of this design makes it more engaging. Website visitor will find it easier (minus complexities) to sort out and thus, will be encouraged to fill in the details asked in form. This design silently follows the design principles including the rule of flow (which is the natural flow of the line of sight of the human eye – right to left. It’s time saving for the website visitor as well.

·         Discourage the visitor to close and move

There is no denying of the fact that visitors are never thrilled to fill up these forms, even if it is a simple, placed in the safe corner of the website, the user will look for every way to avoid/overlook the filling up process. If the close sign is smudged in the background, it is more likely that the user would end up clicking on it either dragging the form on the screen, or by just clicking on the box. So according to the website design companies, blurry designs should be avoided and the close sign should be highlighted enough for users to notice because it is very less likely for user to re-open the fill – up form and continuing filling the blank fields.

·         Notify right at the time

Asking a website visitor to refill the form just after he had submitted it first time, is a real bad idea. The chances of the user going back and filling up the form right from the scratch is next to zero. The best way out is to notify at every wrong data entry – like wrong email id, incorrect phone number. It will also be the time saver for the users visiting your website.
