What you need to know about Local Service Ads by Google

by Raj Prasad Blogger

Local Service Ads by Google are targeted ads that help you get more customers and return on investment from your AdWords campaign. But how do you take advantage of this new service? Learn all about Local Service Ads by Google with the following list of what you need to know about the service and how it can benefit your business.

How much does it cost?

Google Local services ads are subject to a pricing model that’s different from other PPC advertising. Each month, businesses pay a minimum spend of $10 per ad group, plus $2 for each click received and another $0.50 for each call received. As soon as your campaign has accrued more than 25 clicks or 10 calls, you’ll pay based on those numbers instead of paying for ads that were shown but didn’t generate any activity.

How are they different from regular AdWords ads?

There are a few distinct differences between traditional AdWords ads and local service ads: first, they only show up on mobile devices; second, they can only appear when a customer is searching for a local business in their area. The biggest difference, however, is that these kinds of ads include four services to choose from

What is the difference between address, map, and location extensions?

There are three different kinds of location extensions: address, map, and location. You can think of them as three separate ways for your business to be listed in a local results page. The primary difference between these is how much information is provided in each listing. When someone clicks on one of your location extensions, they’ll see more details about your business: phone number, website URL and hours of operation.

How do I use them with my website or app?

So first off, let’s define what we mean by Local Service Ads. These are ads that show up alongside your Google search results, when a user is looking for something local—like a plumber or electrician in their area. How do they work? When a user performs a local search (for example: plumbers near me), an ad may show up on your results page: both at the top and/or along side other organic results.

Why should I use them?

If you have a local business, then it makes sense to advertise locally. If you’re like most businesses, though, your budget is limited. It doesn’t make sense for small businesses to pay big bucks for national advertising when they could be getting more bang for their buck with local ads. In light of that fact, we’ve got some things you should know about local service ads from Google: how much they cost, what kinds of results they deliver and how far reaching they are.
