What You Need to Know About Dubai Civil Cases?

by Tony Maalouli Legal Consultant

Civil court cases are disagreements between individuals or groups concerning some civil type of disputes. Yet, these disagreements can only be solved in court. There will be two sides in civil cases i.e. a Claimant, who is bringing the claim: and a Defendant, who is defending the claim.

If a person has committed to the offense but is not that grave compared to murder and abuse, then it may only be filed as a civil case. If you are interested in knowing about civil cases then consult a firm that provides legal services in UAE, or wherever you stay. Civil court cases are offenses that have caused damages and the offender has to take responsibility for these damages. And this type of case doesn’t involve crime.

There are various kinds of cases in civil court, and these differ depending on the demand and complaints field:

  • General Civil Cases
This civil case involves suing someone for money in disagreement over someone getting hurt, contracts and damages to property. It can also be filed by corporations and it may involve an amount of money being borrowed and not settled.

  • Small Claim Cases
Small claim cases can be filed by individuals or companies contrary to other persons or companies for unsettled accounts that are less than of the general civil court cases.

  • Family Law
Family law is the case involving disputes concerning child support, child custody, adoptions, divorce, or annulment.

  • Juvenile Cases
When children under the age of 18 are involved in a case then this will be filed under the juvenile cases. Children under 18 and below can’t be charged with any criminal law and can’t be confined.

  • Tenant or Landlord Cases
It happens when a landlord tries to evict a tenant or when a tenant has not moved out and is trying to get their deposit back. These types of cases need to be settled legally.

In civil cases, the judge and jury decide to establish more believable evidence. This standard explains that no matter how much evidences are gathered by both parties, the judge will still decide considering the most believable.

Civil cases penalize criminals with a civil fine and it’s not compensated for the hard done and damages of the wrongful act. There are many firms that provide legal services in UAE, or elsewhere, providing professional and reliable civil case services. Unlike the criminal case, the civil case doesn’t carry harsh jail time and other severe legal consequences.
