What You Must Remember When Switching Up Your Fall Skincare Routine!

by Mobile Styles Beauty & Health On-Demand Mobile Styles

Summer and Fall are night and day when it comes to your skincare. As the weather changes, the elements that come along with it can take a toll on your body. And so, it’s important that you keep up with it. There are a few things that you do keep in mind year round. That is skin type and texture. These things remain steadfast when deciding on what skincare products work best for your face. Instead of looking at lightweight products this fall and winter, start looking into products that seem a little heavier in weight. This is important because you want to make sure you are covering all of your bases when it comes to taking care of your skin. However, there is a caveat to this rule. Beware of products that clog your pores and in turn cause your skin to “suffocate.”

What do I mean by suffocate?

This is where skin type comes into play. If you have oily, combination, normal, or dry skin, you still want to look at the ingredients you are putting on your face. Pay attention to labels and such when you are shopping. Cleansers, moisturizers, facial masks, toners, and serums, should either be labeled with your specific skin type or contain ingredients that are good for your particular type of skin in the fall and winter months. For example, if you have oily skin, try using a foam cleanser, tea tree toner, a water or gel-based moisturizer, a brightening face mask, and an acne fighting serum. These things will work together to combat extra oil, fight acne, keep your complexion balanced and skin healthy during the winter months.

It is also a great idea to make an appointment to meet with a dermatologist. You can really get into the specifics of your individual skin type and gain some insight on what you should be using. Your dermatologist will be able to design a custom treatment plan for you depending on what you are trying to achieve. Not only does the doctor factor in your skin type and texture but also the goal you have in mind for your skin. Do you want to focus on anti-aging, a clearer complexion, or simply maintaining balance when it comes to acne? You will then have the option to use exactly what the doctor advises or get the brands that he or she says will benefit your skin.

Switching seasons is about more than switching your wardrobe. Your skincare needs an update too! When shopping for the best products for your skin, take into account all of the things you want to achieve, skin type, texture, and overall goal. This fall and winter will be just another season when you are armed with these tips!
