What to do if I forgot iTunes backup password?

When you decide to restore your iPhone, perhaps to perform a clean installation of a new firmware, it can happen that iTunes require a password to unlock the backup! But I remember I did not put any password!

Yes, it can happen that too sadly; if you do not set any password, then iTunes will set a password on its own, then the recovery will be more complicated since it could be anything!!!

There are mainly two methods to retrieve this password: “guessing” following a list of possible passwords or use recovery software.
