What to Do for Kid’s Dental Care

by Nicole Morgen JORDEN

Children are very sensitive. They are prone to every infection whether it is on the skin or in the dentals. You can locate the infection on the outer body very easily, but locating one in the inner body like in the dentals is a little difficult. Unless until the infection has bloomed completely, it is not easy to identify the damage. Especially in the small babies, it is nearly impossible to point out the dental infection since the baby is going to cry only if he is in pain. As a parent, you have to be careful by taking all the required steps to curb the damage before it starts appearing. Kids’ dental care requires a few steps performed daily at least thrice a day. With help of these simple steps, you can easily protect the dentals of your baby. Some the tips to take care of the baby teeth and gums are:

·         Brush twice a day: brushing the dentals twice a day helps in cleaning them but in babies brushing fulfills different tasks. Babies do not have teeth hence you are actually not brushing the teeth but massaging the gums. Massaging helps in making the gums strong and ready for the teeth that will erupt in a couple of months. It will also help in reducing the extreme pain that may happen during teething period. However, be gentle while brushing the gums. Do not put pressures on them or you may cause rashes or irritated gums.

·        Clean after every feeding: the dentals of the baby must be clean. You should clean the dentals every single time after feeding the baby. Even if the baby is on milk diet, you must clean the dentals to avoid bacterial growth. In the infants of age 2-3 years, you must encourage them to brush their dentals after dinner regularly.

·         Do not feed after cleaning: at night the microbial growth is very high, therefore do not feed the baby after cleaning the dentals at night. If there is a need to do so, make sure that you clean gums thoroughly with wet wipes or water.

If you are scared to use brush to clean the gums of the babies, then use your fingers to do so. Keep the diet of the infant in view as well to avoid any type of deficiency disease that may affect the healthy growth of the teeth and proper kids dental care.
