What Should Be The Length Of The Best College Application Essay?

The best college essay is what students dream before getting enrolled in their dream college or university. We usually think that the length of the essay is not as important as the content of the essay. But to make a good impression, we must be sure to check what the length of our application is.

According to the reports, in 2011-12 it was decided by many colleges that a 500-word limit becomes quite short to furnish an excellent essay. Thus, in 2018-19, the common application essay has a limit of 650 words. Even though the limit changes frequently, but this limit has been constant for the past four years.

But Can We Exceed The Application Essay’s Length?

Since a college application essay is a gateway to college which showcases who you are, its advised not to go beyond limits. Earlier, students were given the opportunity to attach their essays to the application which allowed them to attach essays which were pretty long. But now, the Common application has fixed guidelines. You are not allowed to exceed 650 words. On the other hand, they even don’t accept a word count of fewer than 250 words.
