So what are those IoT devices? Any devices which are connected to the internet is called IoT devices. E.g Light bulbs, TV, refrigerators, washing machine, etc which are controlled by smartphone app are IoT devices.

So how IoT system works? The system which contains Sensors or devices, connectivity system, data processing units, and the user interface is called IoT system. Firstly Sensors collects the information from its environment e.g temperature sensor collects the information about up and down of temperature. This collected data is sent to the cloud. Further, some software will do data processing on it and the next information is made possible to end user e.g alert when the temperature exceeds.
