What is Information Technology?

Many people works hard to study Information Technology and shed light on what this industry focuses on and what it is. Generally Information technology (IT) is defined as the use of computer system and varieties of software to manage and organize information. Sometimes IT is also used to indicate an entire IT-based company. Some Companies also use an alternative form of this term like Management Information Services (MIS) or Information Services (IS). The department regarding Information Technology of a big company is responsible to store information, to protect information, to process and organize the information, to transmit the information if necessary and to retrieve the information if necessary.
It needs to be mentioned here that it wasn't too long ago when the departments dealing with information technology were composed of one computer operator, who might be using magnetic tape to store data, and then putting the tape in somewhere in the basement.
According the studies by Brandon Douglas Bradshaw, now things related to Information Technology (IT) have been changed. The application sectors of Information technology is increasing at a geometrical shape. And to meet the increasing demand of this technology, the modern IT departments are now using high capacity computers, database management systems, servers and cryptography. And these modern IT departments are consists of several Database Administrators, System Administrators, one or two Application Manager and a Chief Information Officer (CIO).
At present, peoples are very interested to get a job in IT sector. The Data Security Managers and Server Applications Managers are the highest paid posts in IT sector. The data storage and organize departments of IT-based companies are the most increasing departments of IT sector. Anyone who wants to build a career in these sectors, must has to have mathematical processing and strategic designing skills.
