What is ERP Software
ERP, or enterprise resource planning, is business process management software that integrates the main functional areas of an organization's business processes into a unified system. As several processes are essential to running a business such as inventory and order management, accounting, human resources, customer relationship management (CRM), and beyond, ERP integrates all of the processes in single system to streamline processes and information across the entire organization. ERP automates many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources. An ERP system includes core software components, often called modules, that focus on essential business areas, such as finance and accounting, HR, production and materials management, customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management. Organizations choose which core modules to use based on which are most important to their particular business. ERP software also offers some degree of synchronized reporting and automation, bringing corporate data on single database, eliminating the need to maintain separate databases and spreadsheets.
