What is difference between induction hobs and infrared cookers?

by hoang le Group
For those who are in need of a new kitchen, choice of induction cooker or infrared cooker is really a problem. If you want to choose the appliance that best suits your kitchen, don't worry. This article will help you distinguish the difference between infrared cookers and induction hobs.

To know the difference between the two, we will first learn about the principles of their operation.

Induction Hobs

The induction hobs are the stove that uses electrical power (Foucault) to cook.

Operational principles

The induction hobs are the stove that uses electrical power (Foucault) to cook. When the current flows through the coil, it creates a magnetic field within a few millimeters on the surface of the stove. A metal pot bottom (magnetized) is now in the magnetic field that generates electricity and converts it into heat. As a result, food will be cooked. This is the fastest method of cooking, avoiding waste of heat and creating safety for the user.

Infrared cookers (halogen cookers)

Infrared cookers (or halogen cookers) are electric cookers that use halogen bulbs as conventional incandescent bulbs but have halogen gas inside to generate heat. (Halogen bulbs are incandescent but have an internal structure called halogen gas, which produces a much higher temperature and pressure than conventional bulbs).

Operational principles

Infrared cookers work on the principle of infrared ray heat. When used, the electric current heats up and illuminates the inner coil windings to generate concentrated heat in a cooking zone.

The heat from the kitchens at this time is quite large from 250° C to 600° C, can heat any material placed on the kitchen. This is one of the most distinctive features of infrared cookers. So you can bake food on the surface of the infrared cookers.

Should use induction hobs or infrared cookers?

With the above analysis, use induction hobs or infrared cookers depending on the needs and conditions of each family. Use infrared cookers when: Users want to save money, make use of the pots and pans are available; Multiply the cooking of the dish. Also, choose induction hobs when you are not afraid to buy new pot but cook fast and safe.

From a personal point of view, if I were a shopper, I would choose to use the induction hobs. If replacing a new set of cookers that brings safety and savings, in the long run, is still too cheap.
