One of the most common forms is the use of corticosteroids. This is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug which is able to suppress the immune system. These are administered with the help of local injections or as a topical ointment or they can be taken orally also. There are certain medications prescribed for the hair growth or they may affect the immune system also. Some patients can make use of photochemotherapy. It is an alternative for the patients that cannot use invasive therapies.
