What features do the best smart watches have?

Trying to find the best smart watch can be very difficult. Technology which just enters the market can leave people scratching their heads at the different features that each product provides. When a product first enters the market, each will have similar features. So we thought we’d advise you on what to look out for in terms of choosing the best smart watch for your needs.

On many smart watch devices, aswell as telling the time, you can read email, text messages and other notifications. Many of us are on the go 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so this is a useful feature to have. Although, I would set the smart watch to only disturb you during office hours or you will never get any sleep!

Some smart watches also contain a calendar. This allows you to schedule in important meetings to help you organise your day. You can also plug in important events such as birthdays which is a useful feature.

You can also link your social media accounts such as from Facebook and Twitter to your smart watch. So if somebody messages you or likes your photos, you will be able to find out right away. We found this to be a really neat feature.

Aswell as this, like a smart phone, you can also install different apps on your device. One app I particularly liked when I tried out the smart watch was the weather app. So when you are out and about, you can check the latest weather to see if you’ll need your rain coat or not!

Many smart watches also come with music players. This is a pretty neat feature to have as there is nothing better than listening to music on the go in my opinion. You can use the smart watch as a remote to control the music being played from your smart watch. This saves you reaching into your pocket to change a track which is very convenient and is an excellent feature to have in my view.

Also, for smarter occasions, it is good to change from a digital to an analog view like a traditional watch.  This means when you’re on your down time, you will not be distracted by loads of notifications which is helpful.

Although not many people have smart watches at the moment, I believe that 2016 will be the year when they will become more popular with people around the world. I would expect them to have more features and become a little cheaper, so if you can wait until next Christmas to get your technology fix, then this would be a good idea!

As for brands to check out, I would recommend Apple. Although if you’d like a cheaper model, I would look at the range provided by Sony. Their watches offer excellent functionality for a cheaper price, so this is a brand to keep an eye on. Good luck choosing your smart watch!
