What Else Can You Do With Your Multifunction Cookers?

by Steve Smith Latest News and Blog

We love Multifunction Cookers! They're more than just a slow cooker; they can be used as a pressure cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, and even an oven! But what else can you do with them? Keep reading to see how you can get even more out of your multifunction cookers than ever before.

Steam-Boil-Saute

You can use your multifunction cooker to steam vegetables, boil potatoes, and sauté meat.

Here Are Some Tips:

Use the steamer basket to steam vegetables. Place whatever vegetables you like in the steamer basket and set it over boiling water in your cooker. The result is perfectly cooked, delicious vegetables that are ready when you are!

Use the boiling function on your multifunction cooker for cooking potatoes. For this method of cooking, potatoes should be peeled and cut into large chunks; after putting them in water with some salt added (your choice of salt will affect flavour), place them on top of another trivet or heat diffuser disc to keep them from touching direct heat from underneath as well as from above. You'll want them covered with water at first but then uncovered until they're done cooking—the lid does most of the work by retaining heat, so there's no need for stirring either!

Bake-Roast-Grill

Did you know that there are other ways to use a multifunction cooker? You can bake, roast and grill with it!

Baking is a form of cooking that uses dry heat. Roasting is another form of dry-heat cooking. Grilling is yet another kind of dry-heat cooking method. All three methods begin with heating the oven or grill to an appropriate temperature—usually 350°F (180°C) or 375°F (190°C)—and then adding food to be cooked. In each case, the goal is to make sure all sides are done evenly without overcooking any part so that they're done at the same time (a process called "searing").

Yoghurt-Rice Wine

Besides the obvious cooking and baking, your multifunction cooker can help you make homemade yoghurt, rice wine, and a rice wine-yoghurt drink.

To make the drink, mix 3 tablespoons of rice wine with 2 tablespoons of milk in a small saucepan. Heat until it boils for about 5 minutes before adding 1 tablespoon of sugar and whisking to dissolve. Take off the heat and add 1 cup of Greek yoghurt or natural yoghurt (and two drops of vanilla extract if using vanilla-flavoured yoghurts).

Mix well, then serve immediately!

Soup-Porridge

Are you a fan of soup and porridge? If so, you can make both with your multifunction cooker. What is a multifunction cooker? It's a kitchen appliance that has several functions: steaming, boiling and frying. To use it, you simply put in what you want to cook and press the relevant button on the control panel.

What else can be done with these new-fangled machines? You can also steam fish fillets or vegetables; boil eggs; fry rice noodles; combine ingredients such as fruits and vegetables with crab meat or chicken wings for delicious salads; make pancakes using batter mix.

Stew/Braised

You can also braise. Braising is a type of cooking that uses a small amount of liquid and relies on the meat's natural juices to create a rich sauce. It's perfect for tough cuts of meat, like brisket or chuck roast, which you might not be able to cook in other ways (like grilling) because they're too lean.

Another great thing about braising is that it can be done in a slow cooker—one of my favourite things about multifunction cookers is that they make it easy to throw dinner together with ingredients I have around the house!

Conclusion

I hope that this post has helped you to see how versatile your multicooker is and what it can do. In addition to all the above, your multifunction cooker can also be used as a slow cooker/crock pot or pressure cooker.
