What are the mobile networks in Andaman?
The Andaman Islands are travel destination for many and people love to visit the place,
laze around on the beaches and have some fun doing adventure sports. These
islands have relaxed and rejuvenating vibes
but in many ways, it is still not
developed. If you are visiting the Islands and think you can work from the
beach or stay in touch with your staff back in office then that is a luxury you
cannot afford. Where the whole country is enjoying 4G or 3G services, Andaman
is yet to enjoy buffer free videos on YouTube. Mobile network in Andaman is still a problem and makes the person
frustrated if you depend on technology for everything. So the question arises
how to communicate with clients or family from Andaman?
Well, there are some connectivity issues in Andaman
but there are some mobile networks that will come to your rescue. What are the mobile networks in Andaman?
BSNL, Vodafone and Airtel are the top most choice of networks that work well in
the islands and have better connectivity in comparison to others.
Ø BSNL: BSNL being a
government telecom company is available in Havelock Islands or Elephant beach
or Radha beach as well; hence is an obvious choice for the travellers. If you
have a mail to reply or planning to watch a movie online then forget BSNL. In South Andaman, BSNL is the best option and even
in some of the remote Islands, it comes
handy.
Ø Vodafone: Vodafone also gives a fairly good network and
come to your rescue in case of storms or heavy rainfall.
You can call your family or friends back home and let them you are safe. It
provides a clear signal; there is no
break of voice or dropping of calls that makes it the standout from the crowd.
Ø Airtel: It can be the lender of last resort as there has been
considerable call dropping and loss of
the network. Forget about Airtel in
remote islands. If the weather conditions favour then you can have internet
connection on Airtel but at snails speed. It is a luxury for many to enjoy internet network in Andaman. So don’t take work
on your vacations rather just let go of work stress and enjoy to your best. But
Airtel is definitely a red flag when it comes to hard weather conditions,
storms or monsoons.
Ø Aircel: Recently, Aircel
has also worked on its network and people have started using its services in
Andaman. Yet again it depends on the weather conditions and does not hope for 3G or 4G network. If the internet works it will take an hour or two to browse single thing or download images from WhatsApp.
