What Are The Different Types Of Inverter Battery Available In The Market?

by Everyone Choice Online Battery Store
The different inverter batteries such as luminous battery and many more are available in the market in different price range owing to the technology in which they are built. Firstly, one must understand the role of the inverter in generating power. The electricity used for running electrical home appliances generally comes from alternate current, also called AC. However, in the situation of a power failure, the supply of this form of current is lost and as a result, one needs an alternate source of power to run the appliances. Sometimes, batteries are used as an option to generate power at home, however, the electricity of such batteries come in the form of direct current or DC and they last for a few hours. In this situation, inverter becomes extremely helpful. They convert the DC output of the battery into AC input to run the electrical home appliances.

The inverters are run on battery and there is specific battery designed for specific inverters. One can buy different types of inverter batteries such as luminous inverter battery and many more online as they often come under different offers. Let us discuss the different types of inverter battery available in the market.

Types of inverter battery based on electrolyte technology:

The first thing one must consider while choosing a battery for the inverter is that inverter batteries are different from an automotive battery. As a result, one cannot replace inverter batteries with car or truck batteries.

Firstly, the inverter batteries available in the Indian market such as luminous inverter battery and many more are rechargeable lead acid batteries and they vary in their prices. Based on the electrolyte technology, lead acid batteries are of two types - Wet cell Batteries and Gel cell batteries. The wet cell batteries also called flooded lead-acid batteries are the most common form of inverter batteries and require more maintenance. They contain a liquid electrolyte such as sulfuric acid. Besides, they are required to be kept in an upright position all the time.

On the other hand, Gel cell batteries also called Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries are free of maintenance. They contain a gel-like electrolyte which is formed by mixing sulfuric acid with fumed silica. They are expensive than the wet cell ones and requires cleaning.

Types of inverter battery based on plate technology:

Based on the plate technology, inverter battery can be broadly categorized into two types - Flat plate batteries and tubular inverter batteries.

Flat plate inverter batteries have lower life span than tubular batteries and they are more resistant to heat. On the other hand, tubular inverter batteries have higher ability to produce and accept current in comparison to flat plate batteries. Both the flat plate and tubular batteries are available in the wet cell as well as gel cell options in the market. Based on the different types, Luminous and many more inverter batteries are available in the market in the different price range.

Before choosing the battery for the inverter used at home, one must check the power requirement of the inverter. With the increase in power of the inverter, one needs higher battery capacity which is quite expensive. Besides, if high power consumption is not required at home, then spending so much excess money is meaningless.
