What Are The Benefits Of A Virtual Bike Fit?

by Mohit J. White Hat Link Building Services

Things being the way they are, still, and I’m loath to say the word pandemic at this point, we aren’t out of the woods yet. In recent times, we have seen a major paradigm shift in how we do things, adopting the digital age probably a couple decades earlier than we otherwise would have. The end result of this is that we have switch to online shopping, telecommuting, online learning and so forth, and there are a host of reasons why we will better as a society for these. Nobody wants to have to commute to a cubicle and deal with annoying coworkers, nobody in the history of ever has enjoyed classroom environments for the most part, an online shopping is cheaper and safer.

However, it’s easy to think that something like a virtual bike fit or a general online bike fit might be an inconvenience, rather than a convenience and I can see where the people would be coming from with this. However, it is only an inconvenience if you are lazy, and if you’re serious about biking, you can’t afford to be lazy anyhow!

With an online bike fit, generally, you use either a smart web interface or talk to a specialist through the Internet, who gets information on you, your environment and your biking goals, and then helps to recommend the best bike and best modifications to said bike for your needs. You will have to do the modifications, construction and installation of various components yourself, which is where the inconvenience comes and if you are, as I said, lazy. However, there are benefits to this beyond just being safer, chief among them being that it is much cheaper in the long run, because while you will still probably have to pay something for the time people invest in helping you online, it will be much less than them having to physically do the alterations as well.

There is another side to this, one that I think is an even bigger benefit than the reduced price. When you have to build, modify and fit the bike yourself, even after getting input from specialists, you understand that bike, and there’s part of you in it, so to speak. As a result, you will understand that bike, that bike will be an extension of you, and as a result, you will ride that bike better, care for that bike better and be just overall more in tune.

There are a lot of other conveniences to this, and have to fill a book probably, but the reduced price, additional safety during these uncertain times and the intuition you get from having to do the physical modifications and installations yourself will go a very long way to a better hobby or professional biking career if the latter is your ultimate goal. If you talk to most very serious cycling athletes, they will tell you that they prefer to do these modifications and so forth themselves, even in times when this isn’t required.
