You are getting out your from a garage and by mistake, you press the button to close the door then what happen next; I do not need to explain in detail.
To avoid such situation, most of the manufacturer started to build sensor eye and install on garage doors. Now, almost all the garage doors have sensor eye installed in a garage door. What is Sensor Eye How it
works?
Safety eyes are nothing but a matched set of LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) that are installed near the bottom of a garage door next to the roller track. The LEDs are facing each other & emit the invisible beams (infrared) between these two. This sensor is engaged with the motor so when the beam is broken, sensor signals to pull the door up. If a door is falling down and at the same time beam is broken, it will change the direction quickly and rise. If something is interrupting the sensor beam when the button is pushed, a motor will engage and stop instantly.
Troubleshooting Tips for
Garage Door:
As we know that what is sensor eyes and how it works for us to save us from a big disaster. But the situation becomes even worse when it doesn’t work. So, the big problem is how to troubleshoot the problem and solve it.
The 1st thing you want to check it may not be a malfunction any time, but the sensor eye merely doing its duty. If anything comes into the path of the door, the beams are broken, the fail safe will engage. So, look & make sure that nothing is blocking the beam. A simple dead leaf stuck on a track can be enough to check whether it is working or not. Ensure that you can see both diodes facing each other and also see that there should be nothing in between these two diodes. Clean the sensors using a soft cloth or an air blower.
So, at the end, I just want to say that if sensor eye isn’t installed on your door then install it now. Check sensors on a regular time. If you want to install or repair the sensor eyes then just get appointment from www.estesparkgaragedoorguy.com
