How to Do a Great Spring Cleaning
The weather is getting warmer, so are people, who have eagerly waited for the spring to arrive. Everyone opens their windows at home and greets the sun and warm wind that come in. It's a wonderful feeling to say 'hello' to the new season and enjoy its arrival fully. However, the spring also comes with the need to clean your home thoroughly and freshen it up so that it can wake up after the long winter. The process of cleaning your entire place and making it ready can take you quite a lot of time and frustrate you enough to be unsure where to start from. Don't worry. If organised well, spring-cleaning your home won't appear such a time-consuming and confusing task. Here are our tips on how to clean your place and welcome the spring in your home.
Let The Sunshine In
The thing we love the most about warm seasons is the sun. Therefore, it's a good idea to start with letting the beautiful sun beams light up your home, i.e. to clean the windows. Use a special cleaning product for windows and clean them inside and outside. Make sure that no stains or dust still remain on the window and see how the whole room lightens up perfectly. Your clean windows will allow you to enjoy the beautiful view of the coming spring.
De-Clutter
Another thing you can do while welcoming the spring, is to de-clutter your entire house or apartment. Throw away anything that's broken or can't be used and get rid of anything you don't like or need. You can sell things you're not needing on the Internet or even organise a garage sell. You know what they say: one man's trash is another man's treasure. Allow items you don't need to be put back in use and make some money meanwhile.
Cabinets, Cupboards, Shelves
Another part of the spring clean would be the clearing up of all cabinets and cupboards you have at home, including those in the bathroom, kitchen and basically any other room. To spring-clean them properly and quickly, take everything out of them and clean the inside as
London cleaners do. Then, before you place items back in, check some products or anything else that might have expired. Clear up things that you won't use and place everything back inside. Make sure the item s you use more often should be positioned more front, so that they are easy to access.
Clean The Fridge
It's a good time to clean your fridge and remove any bad smell from it. Defrost the fridge before starting to clean it. Then remove food that is expired and take everything else out. Clean the inside of the fridge, using a solution of one part warm water and one part white vinegar. Dampen a sponge with the solution and scrub the whole interior of the fridge, making sure you remove all dirt. Tough stains might need a bit more effort. To remove such as stain, dampen a sponge in hot water and place it on the stained area. Press the sponge and keep it like this for thirty seconds. The heat will help loosen the stain and will make it easier to clean. Then place things back in the fridge and continue with the exterior. Use the same solution to clean the outside of the fridge. Pay special attention to the handle of the fridge, which is most probably the dirties area, since it's more frequently touched. When you are ready cleaning the fridge, freshen its smell by cutting a lemon in two halves and put them inside.
Store Away
It's a new season, so store everything that you only use in the winter, such as warm blankets, clothes, jackets, boots, and take lighter items out. Make sure you wash everything before storing it, so that it's ready to use next time you need it.
Bring The Spring In
Last touch of the process of welcoming the spring, can be to place flowers or other plants at home. Put a few colourful pots with beautiful plants in the living room and the bedroom and see what a nice vibe they will bring.
