Ways to Prevent and Cure Sleeping Disorders

by Jared C. Blogger, Digital Specialist

Insomnia is categorized as a sleep disorder where an individual is having difficulty falling asleep and instances of having difficulties in staying asleep. Though symptoms have different characteristics, a single treatment is possible.

What are the types of insomnia?

Types of insomnia depends on how long it lasts. One may be characterized as Acute insomnia where the symptoms last for a short period of time, it can be a night to a few weeks. On the other hand, Chronic insomnia lasts longer and the symptom may even last from at least three weeks up to a month or even more.

In acute insomnia, several events like job loss, death of a loved one, simple physical discomfort, medication, noise in the environment, and even a shift of the temperature in the surroundings may become a trigger. Chronic insomnia, on the other hand, may be due slightly heavy cases such as depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and pain.

Others are characterized as a symptom where an individual is having problems in sleeping that is not directly related or associated with several other health conditions. There are also other types of insomnia resulting from several health conditions such as asthma, depression, arthritis, and heartburn. It may also be through pain, medications, or substances they intake such as alcohol.

Healthy Sleeping Habits

Mild cases of insomnia do not necessarily require a treatment process. One way to cure this symptom is to practice healthy sleeping habits. It may not be as easy as it seems but try to relax your mind and body as you close your eyes and sleep.

Sound Therapy Treatment

For instances where chronic insomnia takes place, it may require diagnosis and treatment. Natural methods such as vibroacoustic therapy or sound therapy is considered to be a natural relaxation technique that helps cure insomnia and other related symptoms.

Treatment and necessary actions may vary depending on the type of insomnia and current health condition of an individual and lifestyle. Knowing the cause of insomnia is a very important factor in order to determine the actions needed to reduce and/or completely remove the symptom.
