Want to bag a high fashion dress for just £1? We can show you how
No we’re not quidding, these party dresses are selling for just £1 each.
Online store Chi Chi London is flogging a few hundred of each design – one a day for five days – from Tuesday in staggered sales at 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.
Those lucky enough to snap up the bargains will follow in the footsteps of Chi Chi celebrity fans singer Ella Henderson , TOWIE stars Chloe Simms and Sam Faiers and Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo.
The £1 quid collection includes a blue skater dress, a long Grecian-inspired number and a LBD with a twist.
The firm is the latest to take a hit on prices to increase traffic to their website in the hope shoppers will buy more than what’s on offer.
After all, who can resist a pair of shoes or jewellery to match when your dress costs less than a pair of pants?
The retailer will run their ‘£1 Collection’ offer for five days with a different dress on sale every day from 9am on Tuesday.
But with just a few hundred of each dress on sale you need to be quick.
In fairness, the firm is staggering sales at 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm but it will still be first come, first serve.
It is hoped the dresses, which come in a size 8 to 16, will help push Chi Chi London further into the public psyche.
One of the first online fashion shops to offer such cheap party outfits wasOMGfashion.co.uk who had a huge success in 2012 with their 99p outfits.
Three hundred dresses sold out in 15 minutes but the stunt attracted 100,000 new visitors to the site over a weekend, making it a huge commercial success.
But here at the Mirror we won’t buy into a PR stunt.

We wanted to know if the £1 dresses were cheap chic or frightful frocks, so I put them to the test while Fashion and Beauty Editor Didi Danso gives her verdict too....
The clear winner. It’s not an obvious Christmas party frock, making it the most stylish one.
The cream background with dark florals is a bit different.
Black tights give it an edge, but you could easily wear it to a summer wedding with sandals.
The only detail that lets it down is slightly bunched elastic along the back of the padded bodice. Its skirt might swamp shorter ladies.
his has the best spinny skirt I’ve found for a while. The light chiffon feels a nice quality and there are two net underskirts for the puff factor, but not too much.
The bodice has loads of beadwork and a flattering belt detail. There is also sewn-in padding – handy as the back is a little bit too low for underwear.
The length probably means it’s one for girls a good decade younger – and a few inches shorter – than me, but it’s fun.
Chi Chi Ida Dress
OK, so this won’t be up everyone’s street. It felt a bit chintzy for me and, of the bunch, probably the cheapest to touch.
I’d wear it for my shift on top of the Christmas tree and not many places else.
But you can’t deny what you’re getting for your pound. The lining is good quality. There are not one but three floaty underskirts.
The upper material is packed full of detail. This level of sparkly embroidery can’t remain available for a pound for long.
