Volunteers all over the world donate billions of dollars’ worth of their hard work and lots of man hours, each year. From global NGOs  down to popular social service organizations in India, there are  volunteers keen to give  their free time for a cause they have faith in.  The majority of such organizations  would not be able to continue without the continuous support of these volunteers. Each year, disadvantaged people are made happier as well as safer through  volunteers’ hard work.

The worth of volunteers for  NGOs is unquestionable. They allow organizations to increase their capacity and accomplish more than they would otherwise have. They work in all areas from fundraising,  assisting in reaching the lawful Rights to citizens,  working at field  level project work  and in the administration. Their wealth of skills lets these charitable organizations direct as much funds as possible towards their recipient communities, helping them receive the benefits that  make a better world.

A lot of people incorrectly understand volunteering as something that people do either when they are young  or when they have turned old and are  retired from  work. Undoubtedly, these two groups do form a big chunk of volunteers because  their position  allows them to offer help  which  people in full time jobs are unable to do.

Nevertheless, these groups of expert as well as skilled people are the ones  who should be to encouraged to carry on offering help all through their lives. People with experience in the place of work often have talents that can be applied to NGOs that are able to help them out considerably. Large numbers  of charities are run like  business organizations and they require proper business skills to be effectively run.

A few of these skills can be applied through hiring talent,  however these expenses  would eat into funds that could be used to run  their main mission. When people offer their time for free, Non-Governmental Organizations save money and are better able to work for their cause.

Visualize a world where all people volunteered for just some hours a week…. Where each one of us devoted just a small proportion of our time to support people in need. How many lives can we transform? How much better can we make the world for all of us?

So, take the initiative and volunteer for an NGO or offer help through donation and get donation tax exemption too, in return. There are many NGOs in India that offer elderly health care services for the care of elderly.
