Volkswagen Vento Facelift – Better than ever
The dealers of Volkswagen are all set to launch a facelift. They have started accepting the bookings for its new Vento facelift in India ahead of its expected launch by June 23. Volkswagen Vento Facelift can be booked with a down payment ranging from Rs. 25,000-75,000.
The Vento facelift flaunts a new front bumper with 3-slat chrome grille and larger air dam. This gives the car a larger appearance. The side profile of the new Vento includes a new set of 15 inch Zirkonia alloy wheels. The rear profile of the Vento facelift includes a re-worked bumper with thick chrome strip and refreshed tail lamps. It also includes a new bonnet and slimmer rectangular fog lamps. The 2015 Vento also gets integrated LED turn indicators on the ORVMs and cornering lights. The chrome lining on the boot, and chrome highlight on the exhaust tip adds to the classiness.
The top Highline trim gets new Walnut Desert beige dashboard, while the Trendline and Comfortline sport Cloud TitanSchwarz colour. The rest of the cabin design remains unchanged. The new Vento facelift will also get a few new features such as dead pedal, Cruise Control, electrically folding OVRMs and a cooled glove box. Like the older car it still comes with the 2-din audio system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, driver and front passenger airbags, and ABS.
In terms of dimension, the new Vento is taller and longer than the current model. It is 1,467 mm tall 4,390 mm long. The ground clearance of the model has reportedly gone down to 163 mm from 165 mm.
The engine specification remains the same but is more fuel efficient. The fuel economy is improved by 7.5 per cent in diesel models
The diesel variant gets 1.5-liter TDI power train which generates an output of 103.5 bhp @ 4400 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque @ 1500-2500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-Speed MT and 7-speed DSG automatic
The petrol model retains the 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engine. The 1.6-litre MPI gives an output of 103.5 bhp with 153 Nm of torque while the 1.2-litre turbo gives the same output of 103.5 bhp but an increased torque of 175 Nm.
The turbo petrol engine is coupled with the 7-speed DSG automatic while the 1.6 MPI petrol gets 5-speed MT. While the 1.6 MPI returns 16.09 kmpl, the 1.2 TSI and 1.5 MT deliver 18.19 kmpl and 20.4 kmpl respectively. The 1.5 DSG gives a mileage of 21.5 kmpl.
When launched, the new Volkswagen Vento will
take on the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna 4S. The latest
version of the Volkswagen Vento sedan will be launched with a price tag
starting from Rs 7.85 lakh.
