Visit Some Interesting Places with Cheap Tenerife Holidays
by Daisy Wilkinson Travel GuidesTenerife is the largest of all the Canary Islands and
attracts plenty of tourists annually from various parts of the world. Home to
some enchanting natural surroundings, it also has many elegant hotels, resorts,
and charming white-sand beaches. The southern part of the island is where most
of the activities related to tourism can be enjoyed. However, there is a lot
more that the island offers other than the natural attractions, hotels and
resorts. Among its wonderful offerings is the Carnaval celebration, which is
held on a grand scale on this island and is the world's second most popular
carnival.
You can get cheap
Tenerife holidays if you plan your visit during the period between the
months of September and December or March and May. However, it is advisable to
book your holiday in advance if you intend to visit during Easter, as the
island gets a heavy rush of tourists on this occasion. The island experiences
its peak tourist season during the months of January and February. Tenerife has
a fantastic climate and is a destination that can be visited at any time of the
year, but some tourists find the hotter months of June and July a bit
uncomfortable.
During your Tenerife
holidays, you'll get to explore the most fabulous attractions on the
island. One of them is Teide National Park, which has been listed as a UNESCO
World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular places visited by tourists
across the world. This park is located on Mount Teide, which is Spain's highest
mountain. Another exciting place worth visiting is a small fishing village
called Punta del Hidalgo, located in the municipality of San Cristobal de La
Laguna. While exploring this village, you can visit any of the local
restaurants to relish some traditional delicacies of the region.
While enjoying your Tenerife holidays, you'll also get the opportunity to indulge in
some exciting activities outdoors. Among them is snorkelling and hiking, which
can be enjoyed in Costa Adeje. Upon getting to Los Gigantes, you'll get the chance
to watch the whales and dolphins in action as many of them head to the sea
along the cliffs. The hiking trails located in the village of Masca would lead
you through some fascinating natural surroundings besides giving you an
adventurous hike. While in the Anaga region, you can find some enchanting
beaches and forest regions that have some thrilling adventures in store for
you.
Some delectable varieties of the local cuisine can
also be enjoyed while holidaying on the Spanish island. One of the most popular
ones is Papas Arrugadas, which is served with 'Mojo Verde' or the green salsa
and 'Mojo Rojo' or the red salsa. Yet another delectable treat you can't afford
to miss during your time spent in Tenerife is Churros de Pescado. It consists
of chips and fish that are served with 'alioli', which is a garlic mayonnaise.
You can also savour the salty, crispy, and tiny fried squids known as
'Chopitos', which can be made even more delicious with the addition of lemon
juice.
