Vacuum pumps

Generally, Vacuum pump is a device to remove gas molecules from a sealed volume. It is a pump for exhausting gas from an enclosed space. The first vacuum pump was invented in 1650 by Otto von Guericke, and was preceded by the suction pump.

Applications

They are mainly used in industrial and scientific processes including composite plastic moulding processes, production of most type pf electric lamps, vacuum tubes and CRT’S. Especially in the field of transformer maintenance, vacuum pumps plays an vital role, it helps in increasing the life time of transformers. Vacuum may be used to provide assistance to mechanical devices. In hybrid and diesel motor vehicles, a pump is fitted on the engine is used to produce vacuum.

Global Vacuum pump market

Due to growing adoption in power, oil and gas, chemical processing and semiconductor industries, global demand for vacuum pumps is increasing rapidly. Wet vacuum pumping has been the conventionally used technology in the global vacuum in the global vacuum pump market.

The vacuum pumps market is segmented into gas transfer vacuum pumps and entrapment pumps. The global market is segmented based on the application of medium vacuum pressure, low vacuum pressure, high and ultra-high vacuum pressure. On the basis of end-user, the global vacuum pumps market is segmented as chemical processing, petrochemicals, power, semiconductor, and others. Out of these, chemical processing is the leading segment in the market, whereas semiconductor segment is the second largest segment in the market.

Moreover, rising investment in these industries is also expected to benefit the market of vacuum pumps globally. There are various types of vacuum pumps like multi vane pump, oil lubricated pump, liquid ring vacuum pump, piston pump etc…Among them, Liquid ring and dry vacuum pumps are currently dominating the global market by capturing over 60% share of the market. Consumption of liquid ring vacuum pumps globally is estimated to increase at a CAGR of 4.6% to reach 247,013 units by 2024. Dry vacuum pumps are expected to witness fastest growth during 2016-2021 owing to increasing consumer demand for power efficient, durable and advanced pumping solutions.

According to the recent report published by TechSci Research, “Global Vacuum pump market forecast and opportunities, 2019”, the market for vacuum technologies is growing at a healthy rate. This rapidly boosts the worldwide demand for vacuum pumps. It is projected to witness a CGAR of 5.3%, in value terms, during 2014-2019.
