Using Webinars to Grow your Brand

by Daniel N. CEO

There are many marketing strategies that have the potential to give you an edge in your business.

You could create YouTube videos.

You can make a lot of written content for your website.

You could also focus on starting a new podcast.

These are all great but they’re missing one thing – the ability to sell directly.

Instead, they’re an intermediate step that gives you the opportunity to build awareness and, possibly, turn them into customers much later.

Webinars are different. It’s an opportunity introduce yourself to someone, build a relationship, and close the deal in just an hour. This article takes a closer look at the power of webinars and why you should be using them to grow your brand.

What is a webinar?

Put simply, a webinar is a large scale online event that consists of a host (or multiple hosts) and a group of attendees that range from a handful to thousands.  Webinars are powerful as a soles tool because they’re usually live events and you’re able to communicate with your attendees directly. They can ask you questions and you can answer those questions instantly.

This helps to build trust, reduce skepticism, get any lingering questions out of the way that may usually impeded the sale.

The best way to use webinars

The reason webinars are so powerful is because they’re versatile. You can use them to train your staff, educate your customers, or sell to prospects. The choice is yours.

Not only can they be used in multiple ways, they can be used in multiple industries. A software company can use webinars to sell their subscription and an eCommerce brand can also use them to sell their clothes or gadgets.

It can also be used to sell relatively high ticket products. For example, a webinar has been proven to work well for courses that retail for thousands of dollars.

There’s a simple framework that the most successful webinars follow.

First, they focus on a specific problem that needs to be solved for the attendees. A general webinar like how to grow your business won’t do as good as a specific one like “How to build your email list with one effective strategy.”

One is specific and one is general.

The second step is the structure of the webinar of itself. It starts with a reiteration of what attendees stand to gain, moves into the credentials of the host, shows the transformation they can achieve, and presents a timely offer.

The last step is creating a great offer – an irresistible offer. Many people don’t realize this but if your offer isn’t ideal for your prospect then nothing else matters. They won’t take you up on it.

Many people think of the offer as just the price. While that’s part of it, there are many other things to consider such as the payment terms, the price, what they’re getting, the guarantees, and more.

There are many webinar platforms out there like WebinarJam, Easywebinar, GoToWebinar, and more. Choose the one that supports your goals and makes it easy for you to get up and running. There’s nothing worse than struggling with technology.

Who should be using webinars?

At the risk of sounding cliché, I believe everyone can use webinars in some way shape or form. Even if it’s not the ideal solution to sell to your audience, they can still be used to educate and connect with them.

There are a few specific industries that stand to gain even more from a webinar such as:

-          Software companies

-          Online course creators

-          Authors

-          Consultants

-          Unique electronic gadgets

-          Unique clothing

The above list isn’t exhaustive and even if your business doesn’t fall into the categories mentioned, you should still give it a try.

Conclusion

Webinars are a powerful tool to help you grow your audience and grow revenue. They can be used in almost any industry but it’s important to follow the processes that are proven to work and have produced millions of dollars for users.
