by Carol Sobers Social Media Marketer
Content is the major component of almost every marketing campaign in today's world, but who creates this content? Yes, the marketers, so can we believe on this which is solely produced by experienced marketers and players of words, can we believe on the content which is made to impress us and buy? NO!

Here comes the use of most useful content on the internet for users, marketers everyone, i.e. user-generated content! UGC is a type of content which is produced by users or customers rather than marketers themselves and that is why user generated content is the most trusted form of content left on the internet if we talk about marketing content.

Benefits of User-Generated Content

User generated content is the most trusted form of content on the internet and there are a number of reasons for it...

#1 Not to sale intention - UGC is made by users and customers and hence this content is true enough to trust on, as it is not made for selling!

#2 Free of cost - User generated content is totally free of cost, which makes it more useful and powerful.

#3 Unlimited - World is full of people, if you want to leverage UGC for marketing, then there is an unlimited supply of content for you!

How to Leverage UGC for Marketing

Using UGC and leveraging it for business marketing is not a tough task to accomplish, but it will surely take a proper strategy and some resources to use user/customer generated content for marketing of products and services.

Here's how to do it...

#1 Create a campaign and encourage users- The first thing you need to do is to think and plan why your users or customers will create content for you. For this you can create a campaign, providing some offers, discounts, or simply a shout out to the people who are creating content for you and market the campaign well so that it reaches the right audience!

Look at the example of Coka cola's #shareacoke or oneplus' #shotononeplus campaigns

#2 Collect and Curate - After you have encouraged your users enough to use your hashtags, or mention you in their posts, you need to collect and curate these posts for your marketing and using a content aggregator tool for this purpose is the best possible option!

So this was how you can leverage user generated content for marketing!
