Useful tips to prepare GK paper for CLAT 2014

Law is a vital part of our life. It shapes up the society and binds its members within a legal structure. Rules in the form of laws are set which an individual has to follow. There are five important subjects that one has to study that are English, mathematics, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Legal Awareness.

CLAT or the Common Law Admission Test is the most frequent exam that is taken up by the law aspirants. All the undergraduate as well as the post graduate students who have a degree from a recognized university can appear for this examination. The examination is held for a total of 100 marks out of which two papers that are Legal Aptitude and General Knowledge.

General Knowledge is one paper in CLAT examination where one can secure full marks. While most of the candidates confuse on how to prepare for General Knowledge for law Exams, here one can get some important tips on how to gain expertise and thus secure the maximum marks. The paper is very interesting as one gets to know about the current events that are happening in the country.

One should read newspapers on a regular basis and note down all the important events in a notebook. Numerous competition magazines are released from time to time and they are one of the best ways to get an idea about the type of questions that come in the examinations. Sport is one area from where most of the questions come; hence keeping a track of all the major events of a particular year is also important. As far as the current affairs are concerned, the student should primarily focus on subjects such as international economy and finance related issues. Reading news related to World Bank and International Monetary Fund can also prove to be quite beneficial.

There are many books published by many publishers such as “The Hindu” Diary of events, GK books from Pearson or those of Manorama Publications. Students can also solve some of the sample questions from the previous year’s sets. Solving more and more papers gives confidence and one can get an idea about the pattern of questions. In fact, there is a huge possibility of getting few common questions also.
