Useful Office Tips to Avoid COVID-19 Spread at Home
by Dynamix Group WriterAs we enter the
fourth month since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country, the
importance of social distancing and taking precautions against the virus has
increased manifold. The nature of the virus has forced nations across the globe
into lockdowns and restricted all of us to our homes. Medical fraternity is
facing a crisis like never before, while the mortality rates have crossed 7.94
million.
The economic
implications of this global pandemic have been catastrophic for many. Keeping
this in mind, the government has eased the rules and regulations to have
certain businesses open and running now. While most of us continue to work from
home, some have to head out and attend office either on a regular basis or at
least once a week. The thought of heading out and exposing yourself to
environments including a number of people can be quite daunting in such times.
However, we have certain guidelines that you can follow to avoid the spread of
coronavirus within your workplace or at home.
Thumb Rules
Some of the
precautionary measures that we all need to incorporate in our lives regardless
of where we are, include:
·
Not
touching your face, nose or eyes
·
Using
sanitizer to disinfect your hands at regular intervals
·
Wearing face masks
·
Washing
hands before and after meals for a minimum of 20 seconds
·
Maintaining
adequate social distance
Use the Stairs
If your office
or workstation is not on the ground floor, it is best to use the stairs in
place of the elevators. If elevators cannot be avoided make sure that there are
not too many people in the lift, keep yourself away from the surface and use
elbows or toothpicks to access buttons or doors.
Disinfect your Workstation
Although your
office might be indulging in disinfecting the desks and tables, one can never
be over protective in case of a global pandemic. Carrying a disinfectant and
cleaning your desk and chair before you start working is something everyone
should follow. It is best to wear gloves and masks while you continue to work
in office all day to avoid any direct contact with a possibly contaminated
surface.
If you are
looking for masks, gloves, alcohol
sanitizers and other medical supplies, you can procure them online through
