by Miles Education Make an impact. Lead,Excel, Serve

One of the most sought-after occupations in the accounting industry is US CPA. With widespread recognition, anyone can pursue a US CPA. The ability to study and take the exam from any location is the driving force behind many accounting aspirants' decision to enroll in the US CPA Course. This post will walk you through each stage of the process of becoming a US CPA from India.

Who may pursue the US CPA?
The fact that anyone can pursue US CPA is its strongest feature. There is a widespread fallacy that in order to sit for the US CPA exam, you must have a B.Com or history in accounting and finance. That is not the case, though. Regardless of your school background, if you are focused and dedicated, you can succeed in becoming a CPA.

A CPA applicant must have 120 credit hours to appear for the exam. Your college education will consist of 30 credit hours every year. You are good to go if you completed a four-year degree.

Qualifications for US CPA
The State Boards of the US's 55 states decide who is eligible to become a US CPA. The requirements for becoming a licensed US CPA vary widely between states. You have the option to obtain a CPA license in any state.

Notably, passing the exam does not automatically grant you a CPA license. Additionally, you need to have appropriate work experience.

The following are the prerequisites for obtaining a US CPA license as set forth by the US State Boards:

  • 150 credit hours minimum

  • Passing the CPA examination

  • At least one year of related experience

Application process
You must submit your application after making sure you have the necessary number of credits. To submit your application, you must go to NASBA's CPA Central portal and upload all required files. You will receive your NTS (Notice To Schedule), which you can use to schedule the exam, once the documents have been confirmed. Please be aware that the NTS has a six-month validity limit. Therefore, you must take the exam within six months. You will then need to apply for a new NTS.

Plan your CPA exam date
To schedule the CPA exam utilizing the NTS, find the Prometric testing facility that is the nearest to your home. There are 8 cities in India with CPA Prometric testing facilities, namely- New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Trivandrum.

The process
The Uniform CPA Examination is divided into 4 sections, each of which has a 4-hour time limit. Here are the 4 tests:

  • AUD (Auditing and Attestation)

  • BEC (Business Environment and Concepts)

  • FAR (Financial Accounting and Reporting)

  • REG (Regulation)

The candidates are free to take each exam individually or entirely. Additionally, you can take the examinations in any random order. Most applicants start by taking the exam they feel most comfortable with. The total time frame for finishing all the tests is 18 months.

Preparing for the CPA exam
The most crucial stage has arrived, which is getting ready for the US CPA exam. Even though passing the CPA exam is not very difficult, you still need to work hard. Finding the best training facility is the first step. A training institute should have a faculty, study materials, mentoring, and placement aid, among other things. Then, make a study plan, use the study resources, and seek the advice of the faculty to comprehend the topics. And in this case, Miles Education is just the right platform for you.
