Matangi Island is situated in the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand approximately 3.4
km away from the east of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula on North Island. The island
stretches for 2.2sq km and is an open nature reserve operated by the Supporters
of Tiritiri Matangi Incorporated under the Dept of Conservation. The island is
a haven for bird lovers as it houses a variety of birds ranging from Takahe,
Kiwi, and North Island kokako. This island witness more than 32,000 visitors
annually, this island is also famous for hosting several events and programs of
conservation volunteer. This island is accessible via a ferry that runs from
the Auckland Ferry terminal and the Gulf Harbour.
Sky Tower
The Sky Tower
is an observation as well as a telecommunication center in Victoria, Federal
Streets within the city’s CBD, and Auckland. The tower stands 328 meters tall
from the ground level making it one of the tallest-freestanding structures in
the Southern Hemisphere. This tower is also the 27th tallest tower in the world
and it is an important landmark in Auckland owing to it unique size and
structure. The tower forms part of the Sky City Auckland Casino complex that
was built during the late 19th century for Harrah’s Entertainment. The tower
sees more than 4 million visitors annually.
The Auckland War Memorial Museum
The Auckland
War Memorial Museum is one of the most important museums and war memorials in
the southern hemisphere. It has the largest collections about New Zealand's
natural history, military history, and collections which give its visitors
about what the country has gone through in the past. The museum architecture
draws its inspiration from the neo-classical style mounted on a grass plinth in
Auckland. The museum first opened in 1852 formed by the Auckland Philosophical
Society and later by the Auckland Institute.
