Pumps are used widely in many mechanical industries and they are an integral part to perform many complicated operations of manufacturing. Pumps are mechanical tools to transfer liquids and slurry materials as a part of a process in industries like construction, plastic, food, manufacturing and so on. Pumps come in many types, they are bought basis on specific industrial operations and requirements. Some of the most frequently used pump types in industries are pneumatic transfer pumps, axial flow pumps, booster pumps, ANSI process pumps, chopper pumps and so on. Understanding the right type of pumps for your business is vital to reduce cost and increase the efficiency of operations. If you choose the correct type and material of a pump, the life of pumps is automatically improved. Let us understand some commonly used and important types of pumps and their particular uses.

Pneumatic transfer pumps are made using technology of gas or pressurized air. These are commonly powered by compressed air or inert gases. In such pumps, a centrally located and electrically powered compressor power cylinders, air motors and other devices. These are used for various applications for both grease and oil depending on flow rate, drum size, grease grade/ oil viscosity and so on. Centrifugal pumps are a very general term for pumps with one or more impellers. These pumps come in many types and configurations for different applications. Through these pumps, all sorts of liquids can be pumped. They have highest flow rate of all pump types. ANSI process pumps are the only dimensionally standard pump types that are used in transfer process applications in chemical plants, pulp and paper mills etc.

Axial pumps are very strong flow and low head types of pumps. They are used for heavy flow of water such as in flood dewatering, power plant circulating water, evaporator services and so on. Booster pumps, as the name itself suggests are used to create a very high pressure of liquid. The are used in systems like end-suction, in-line circulator, horizontal split case etc. Chopper pumps are a type of centrifugal pumps that are designed to chop up solids and other materials. It is placed in vertical columns and end-suction configuration. These are mainly used for handling waste water and heavy chemical disposal. There are many other essential types of pumps that are used basis on nature of operations. You can look for commonly used chopper, centrifugal and pneumatic transfer pumps manufacturers, suppliers & exporters on online portals for purchase and supply in bulk.
