UK Education System – Primary Education To Higher Education

The education system in the Britain is separated into 4 major sections, primary education, secondary education, further education and higher education. Kids in the UK have to lawfully attend primary and secondary education which start to educate from about 5 years old until the student is 16 years old.

The education system in the UK is dividing the 4 stages:


1.       First Stage: 5 to 7 years old

2.       Second Stage: 7 to 11 years old

3.       Thirds Stage: 11 to 14 years old

4.       Four Stage : 14 to 16 years old


Usually key stages 1 and 2 will be undertaken at main schooling and at 11 years old a student will go onto secondary school and end stages 3 and 4.

Students are measure at the end of every stage. The most significant appraisal occurs at age 16 when students follow their GCSE's or General Certificate of Secondary Education. Once student’s success the complete their GCSE's they have the option to go onto further education and then possible higher education, or end school and go into the working world.


Basically UK education system divided into five main sections:


Primary Education

Secondary Education

Second step is begins From age 11 to 16, students will come in secondary school for key stages three and four and to start their move in the direction of taking the GCSE's - learn more about secondary education in the UK and what it will engage. Primary and secondary education is compulsory in the UK; after age 16, education is non-compulsory.


Further Education

Once a scholar end secondary education they have the choice to make bigger into additional education to take their A-Levels, GNVQ's, BTEC's or other such qualifications. UK students planning to go to university or college must complete additional education.


Higher Education
