Twitter Made Changes in 140- Character Limit, What Does That Mean?
This change is certainly positive. Twitter announced on 24th May, that media attachments like the photos, GIFs, Videos, links, and polls are excluded from the 140- character limit. They will not be counted as the characters. The tweet that starts from the username would reach to all of the followers. Further, a person can retweet his own tweet.
We are seeing a lot of changes; local SEO services and marketers are particularly happy about the character limit. Now, users can write longer tweets and deliver their message efficiently. It was assumed that soon Twitter would be allowing 10,000 characters in a tweet but that would ruin its identity, the thing that put it apart from the other social networking sites. Well, let us start from the character relaxation this time. It is a great opportunity for social media marketers and they are ready to make the most out of it. Let us see how.
#1. More characters, clear message
Up until now, links and photos were included in the 140- characters count. Twitter used to convert a link into 23 characters and a photo to 22 characters. If a tweet consists of both a link and a photo, you are losing 55 characters already. Thus, for a post with a link, you can write only 117 characters, for a photo, it is 118 characters. This leaves a space for only 95 characters when you are using both a photo and a link. Reading all this, you can know that this change is a good news for all the marketers. Now, they can include a visual or link in the tweet freely and still have 140 characters in hand.
This helps them to deliver their message more effectively. More words mean clear message and no ambiguities.
#2. Freedom to share the visuals
Often, you must be confused as whether to share a photo to make the tweet effective or to write the message straight and forward. Now, there is no need to choose between the two. Visuals are very important on the social media, they deliver the message well and appreciated by the audiences too. You can use the visuals in your tweet freely and make your marketing robust. According to a social media marketing report, 71% of marketers use images on the social platforms, this percentage is now going to increase for sure.
#3. Adding life to the Live Event
Live is beautiful and exciting. It makes your followers connect more with you. You can now live tweet any event organized by you; on and off your premises easily. Live Twitter chat is another great option. Are you already doing that? Okay, now imagine, while live tweeting, you can include images and links dynamically to make the user experience better. Your followers can connect to you better and fast.
#4. A little less pressure
All the marketers who are using Twitter to establish the brand’s reputation are often stressed about the character limit. They need to optimize the message to get maximum CTR and ROI. They wanted the best format for this purpose, sometimes, they had to compromise and put a link instead of a photo, sometimes, they go for all text. This new change would reveal the marketers of their stress. It also opens the gate for the marketers who are not using Twitter because of the word limit. New opportunity for finding the relevant audience and popularizing the brand.
According to the local SEO services, this flexibility is much appreciated by the social media marketers and they are ready to put it to the best use.Post Your Ad Here
